Event CaptioningMake sure everyone gets the message.Sometimes meeting halls are too, big and the sound systems to bad to clearly communicate your messages to large audiences. That's where we come in. Using a video camera, a projector and large screen or several tv monitors, we can capture your messages and add text in realtime so everyone can get the importance of your message. What’s involved? The captioner has special equipment that adds the captions to the video from your the camera. From the captioner we can connect to your standard video projector, your video monitors and your video recorder – just about any video device you may have. You decide what you want to do with the video feed. Most hotels have video projectors and screens to rent – or you may already have them. If you would like to make a video recording we’ll show you where to plug in for your video feed. If you want to wire up video monitors in overflow areas, we’ll show you where to plug it in. Here’s the Technical Stuff For best effect, the camera must be positioned so it has a clear view of the podium. The podium must be well lighted. We recommend the camera be placed no further away than 20 feet for most cases when a single speaker stands behind the podium. The idea is to fill the image with speakers’ face. You'll will need 120V AC near the camera location and near the captioners’ location. Typically the captioner is located where the speaker can be easily heard and where there are no competing noises. A camera operator isn't really necessary, but it's your call. The camera can be carefully positioned before the event and locked into place. Please Note: Thieves seek video equipment. In the event the event area is not secure between sessions, arrangements must be made for us to disassemble and store the equipment between sessions. The video feed is NTSC composite (baseband) video. Sync of blackburst can be made available for genlocking if arranged in advance. For more information, please contact: Caption Reporters, Inc.
