Earize Communications - Internet Streaming Text Service For Broadcasters

Join Pages

These single HTML pages act as ushers. In effect they direct the visitor to a seat in the audience. The "seat" may be a server to get text from, it may be some information like an event schedule, or may be another site and page.

You're in control. You design the pages and Earize™ posts different ones depending on whether the show is in progress, the show is replaying, or the show is not available.

The only limitation is that a "Join Page" must be a single page, so any active scripts or images must be on another server elsewhere. The reason is simply that Earize is highly optimized for doing only one thing well -- reliably serving text to an awful lot of people.

We use the term "posted" to say that the join page has been made available to visitors seeking to join the audience.

"The "Session is on-air" Join Page

This page is posted when the Earize reporter is able to supply text.

Your page can be completely transparent. You can use a meta command (<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="0"; URL="http://placeholder.tesroc.com">) to immediately bring up the viewing client with text.

Your page can be informative or just entertaining with a link to http://placeholder.tesroc.com attached to a hotspot, button or click.

The key is that http://placeholder.tesroc.com is simply a token. Before actually posting your Join Page, Earize replaces the token with a link to the appropriate server. If the audience grows unexpectedly large and it's necessary to shed load, Earize re-posts the Join Page replacing the token with the new server's address.

The "Session is replayed" Join Page

This page is posted when the Earize reporter is no longer supplying text. Any new audience members will get a replay of the event starting at the beginning.

Just like the "Session is on-air" Join Page above, this page uses the same http://placeholder.tesroc.com token to represent the link to the text server.

This page is not required to use the token if you don't want people who arrive after the event to see a replay.

The "Session is not available" Join Page

This page is posted when the Earize server is no longer being monitored and no audience statistics are being gathered.

If you always want your audience to have access to a replay of the event, you can simply tell Earize to use the "Session is replayed" Join Page.
